RE: Prime nite diss

I disagree with your advise to Julie.

measure the strength of a relationship by the time spent with each other , not what day of the week you go out.
Julie is in a new relationship . The guy is a desireable catch ., She is obviously competing with his current girl friend who has a social net work and they get together every week.

Julie has to make this guy like her enough to move her into saturday nite and that means acing out the competion.

She is moving too fast and will scare him off, before the fish is firmly on the hook, and then what has she accomplished.

Sunday is a great date. You have the whole day with no pressure,Maybe the nite to.

He is testing the waters to see if he really wants to make a change.
If he is happy with what he has , he would not be seeing Julie.
Take it one day at a time and forget about saturday nite slots.

It will happen if the relationship grows.

If she pushes it will not work to her advantage. He does not want to hurt the girl he sees every saturday nite , but if he decides that she is not what he is looking for, then Julie is in a good spot. The relationship won't remain static. She needs to give it six months months.

Dear Rabbi Fried
I always enjoy your answers to difficult questions..
My questions is why would God allow his chosen people be among the most hated in the world, having to see their temple destroyed twice ,having their rabbis burned at the stake, expelled from more than 20 countries, not to mention having a third of his chosen die in the holocaust?
Is this not enough proof that God plays no role in mans actions and that free will and randomness is really what it all come down to?

ALthough this rally is arguably a positive step("better than nothing"?), i completely agree with Julie Berman (letter to editor) -- until our community starts organizing better publicity and stops holding these functions behind closed doors, it is basically wasting everyone's time...JCRC - stop preaching to the choir and start organizing more effectively to have a stronger voice to the media and the larger Dallas community!
Cringing does not pay.....

Harriet,
Will you PLEASE stop carrying water for Mike Ghouse in your column? He is another false moderate, deceiving our community. For instance, here is what ELSE he said in his column on Helen Thomas:
"We need to see the whole tape, and need to know the context in which Helen was saying "to get the hell out of Palestine?" If she was saying as a bigot, she is wrong and she needs to step out of her position; but if she was saying it in the context of ending the missiles into Israel and ceasing blockade of essentials in to Gaza, then the comments may have to be evaluated differently."

Sound like the thoughtful words of an tolerant soul?
You do us no favor by being taken in by him. Thanks - I otherwise love your column.
