Daytimers gather for video
Thirty Daytimers gathered at Beth-El last month to watch the video of Paul Anka and his Evening to Remember.
Recorded at the Mirage Casino in Vegas, Anka sang some 20 of his songs and told the rapt audience a little about what happened at the time he wrote them. His daughter joined him on the stage for one solo. Lunch was catered by Ming Wok and some Daytimers chose to bring their own.
On Wednesday, May 11, Daytimers will offer a special presentation by Dr. Carole Rogers and the always entertaining Hedy Collins. Dr. Rogers is the director of Jewish Family Services and Hedy is the senior program director. Their fun, engaging and interactive presentation will help those attending find an abundance of free and discounted items and services aimed at them and their needs.
Lunch will be prepared by Chef Richard Hollander and will consist of chicken tortilla soup accompanied by beef empanadas.
Reservations are required. To make yours, simply call Larry Steckler at 520-990-3155. The fee for lunch is $5; the program is free. Bring your friends, your neighbors and your family. Everyone is guaranteed a terrific time.
Sylvia Wolens Daytimers is a program of Beth-El Congregation with additional funding from the Jewish Federation of Fort Worth and Tarrant County. It meets once each month for lunch and an entertaining program that changes each month.
