Following the fatal shooting of two Israeli Embassy staff members at an event at the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., last night, the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas activated its security alert system early this morning.

The alert emphasized that there is no known threat to the Dallas-Fort Worth area. However, Security Director Bill Humphrey stated that he and his team are working closely with local law enforcement to ensure that Jewish agencies and campuses remain secure.

“Due to the nature of this violent, targeted antisemitic attack, it is necessary to ensure our agencies’ security protocols and security posture are at a heightened focus,” Humphrey wrote.

He added that the Federation is “collaborating with the intelligence community, ADL, and our national partner, Secure Community Network, to communicate any appropriate information in real time.”

Additional alerts will be sent to community leadership through the Community Security Alert Notification system, if necessary.
