Arlene Phyllis Gulton passed away peacefully in Dallas on Jan. 26, 2026. She was born June 23, 1943, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to parents Martin Milstein and Dorothy Lasky Milstein.
Arlene met and married her first husband — and lifelong best friend — Mike Grossman (John) while studying at the University of Minnesota. She was an avid bowler, mah jongg player and original member of the Mixed Nuts. She also played gin rummy with her husband Jack nearly every evening for a penny a point, funding an annual trip to Las Vegas or Sanibel Island.

Arlene enjoyed life to the fullest and will be missed by her many friends and family. Special thanks to the Tuesday Temple mah jongg ladies, who gave her something to look forward to in her last years, and to the medical staff and care teams at UTSW Clements Hospital and Faith Presbyterian Hospice for their kindness and exceptional care in her final days.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Allen Gulton; brothers Myron “Mike” Milstein (Annie) and Irwin “Terry” Milstein; son-in-law Howard Warsett; and grandson Baruch Warsett.
Arlene is survived by her sister Sheryl Gordon (Jeff); daughters Estee Warsett, Jenifer Mills and Laura Cloud (Devon); son Barney Grossman; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 3, at Temple Shalom Dallas, 6930 Alpha Road, with Rabbi Andrew Paley officiating. A shiva minyan will be held at 6 p.m. at 7348 Lakehurst Ave., Dallas, TX 75230. She will be interred in a private ceremony, with a celebration of her life to be held in Minneapolis at a later date.

Michael J. Miller
June 4, 1945 – Jan. 23, 2026
Michael J. Miller died peacefully Jan. 23, 2026, surrounded by his beloved wife of nearly 50 years, Donna; his daughter Sherry (Terry); his granddaughter Sydney (Michael); and close friends.
Born at The Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, Michael’s family moved to Baltimore in 1957 and then to Jefferson City, Missouri, in 1960. In 1961, the company his father worked for relocated to Memphis. Michael graduated from White Station High School in Memphis in 1963 and attended Memphis State University, where he and a small group of friends helped establish a chapter of ZBT Fraternity.
Following graduation, he attended the Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine from 1963 to 1967. He later became board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. Throughout his career, Michael served on numerous podiatric boards and was instrumental in reviewing and updating podiatric medical textbooks. He was recognized multiple times in D Magazine.
Michael was never negative. He trusted people with every ounce of his heart within minutes of meeting them. Always energetic and unable to sit still, he could grow impatient when there was something to do — yet he consistently brought light to even the most difficult situations, determined to keep everyone else smiling. No matter what he was facing, he would always tell others he was “just fine.”
He was preceded in death by his father Ben and his mother Kathryn.
He is survived by his wife Donna Miller of Plano; his daughter Sherry McGowan (Terry) of Plano; his granddaughter Sydney McGowan (Michael) of Frisco; his sister Judy Streger (Ivan) of Foster City, California; his brother-in-law Stan Zappin of South Lebanon, Ohio; his sister-in-law Stephanie Zappin (Robert) of Teaneck, New Jersey; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Cherished by all who knew him, Michael brought warmth, kindness and laughter into every room. His legacy of compassion and generosity will live on in the hearts of those whose lives he touched.
