Terri Frauman

Terri Suzanne Frauman, 66, a lifelong resident of Dallas, passed away Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023, of pneumonia.

Terri was born April 19, 1956. She attended Shearith Israel Hebrew School and graduated from Lake Highlands High School in 1974.

After high school, Terri went to work for Sterling Jewelers. She then went to work for the American Heart Association, where she was employed as an accountant and assistant to Mr. Dick Schein for many years before retiring in 1988.

Terri was a breast cancer survivor. She enjoyed cooking, baking and bingo. She was a member of the Red Hat Society.

In September 2022, Terri’s heart was broken when her companion and fur baby, Sallie Suzanne, 18, a chi-weenie, crossed over the rainbow bridge.

Terri was preceded in death by her parents, Israel and Jeanne Frauman. She is survived by her husband, Mark Freeman; brothers, Harry Frauman (Kathy) and Steven Frauman (Marilyn); several nieces and nephews; and countless friends.

There was a private family interment service. Arrangements were provided by North Dallas Funeral Home.

Jack Laves

Jack Maurice Laves, 88, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2023, in Houston. Jack was born on Aug. 21, 1934, in Fort Worth to Sam and Gertrude Laves.

He attended Paschal High School in Fort Worth and later TCU and SMU, where he played golf for both colleges.

Jack joined the Army at Fort Bliss in Texas and was sent to Germany. He worked behind the scenes in Germany and played golf in both the French and German Open.

Upon his return, he mostly worked in the jewelry business.

He was a member of Congregation Brith Shalom in Houston.

He is survived by his wife, Sondra Laves; his three children: his son Barry, daughters Stacey and Courtney and their husbands; his sister Lana and husband Stanley Latman; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. 

A graveside service will be held in Fort Worth at the Greenwood cemetery, Congregation Beth-El (date to be yet determined). Shiva will take place in Dallas.
