
Faye Levine Sight
Faye Levine Sight, 70, a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, died Saturday, Oct. 10, 2020, in Leawood, Kansas.
She was born July 14, 1950, to Beatrice and Irving Levine, in Boston, Massachusetts, the second of four daughters. She grew up in Fort Worth and was always a Texas girl at heart.
Faye was passionate about teaching and attended the University of Oklahoma where she was a member of Alpha Epsilon Phi Sorority. She graduated from Vanderbilt University.
A preschool teacher at The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah, she was lovingly known as Miss. Faye until she retired. She was passionate about making a difference in the lives of her students. In her later years, she volunteered and taught illiterate adults to develop reading skills.
She was an active member of The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah. She was an avid reader and movie lover. Faye also had a deep passion for animals, especially dogs. Most importantly, her selflessness and her love and passion for her family and friends was her greatest attribute.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law Allen Reeves.
She is survived by her children Sarah (Sean) Compel of Coconut Grove, Florida, Zachary (Ashley) Sight of Kansas City and Brian Sight of Kansas City; sisters Vivian Reeves of Denver, Colorado, Robin Steinberg of Dallas and Marcie Levine of Northbrook, Illinois; five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A private funeral service was held Oct. 11 at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family suggests that contributions go to The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah Pre-School Fund, 12320 Nall Ave., Overland Park, KS 66209 (913-663-4050) and be directed to the preschool/early years programs.
